On the grounds of the Kansas statehouse you will encounter this statue
of a seated Lincoln. Merrell Gage of Topeka designed this bronze work,
which was introduced to the public on February 12, 1918. Gage also created
the famous pioneer woman statue located nearby and a seated statue of
Lincoln as a young man displayed at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois.
