Hastings Statue in Sioux City, Iowa

Placed at an entrance to Grandview Park, this bronze work also is a replica of one by W. Granville Hastings in Cincinnati, Ohio, and likewise removes the figure of a kneeling woman. It stands on a base of Minnesota granite.

The marker depicts the conclusion from Lincoln's famous Cooper Union Address: "Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it." The statue was a gift of local citizens Elizabeth and John Magoun, and was unveiled on April 5, 1924.
