Summer View

Spring and summer traditionally draw many visitors to the Lincoln home neighborhood.

On May 18, 1860, when Abraham Lincoln received the Republican presidential nomination, well-wishers gathered outside his home. He told them that he would invite the whole crowd into his house if it was large enough to hold them. Just then a voice broke in, "We will give you a larger house on the fourth of March," referring to the White House.
